There is nothing more intimate and personal than photographing a family in their home. The place where they feel most comfortable. Where they live, love, argue, cry, eat, sleep… I love the fact that there are memories packed within those walls. The refuge most of us feel when we are at home, a comfort like no other… I see that in these photos.
There is nothing wrong with waiting a little bit to have babies. Waiting until you’ve settled into marriage, your career, your home… Matt and Dana grew their marriage and their relationship before they grew their family. Maisie was welcomed into the strongest family and blessed with a tremendous amount of love.
I love how they chose to include the whole family with their lifestyle session. The memories of the first few weeks of having Maisie around are priceless. I’m so glad to have captured a glimpse into their new world!
It took us 2 failed attempts to get these photos but the third time was a charm! Well, sort of. We still got rained on at the very end of Taylor and Jeremy’s engagement session but not before we got in some beautiful shots at the beach (even though we didn’t make it to the water… sigh…) Anyway, an outfit change, a few ring shots, and lots of love filled our time at Jetty Park.
I can’t wait for their Toledo wedding in June! It should be a fun filled weekend!
This sweet little princess loved getting her milk bath! We made it nice and warm and she had a blast kicking her little legs and splashing! I loved setting this up and I could not have asked for a cuter model!
The Carey wedding was set in the moody backdrop of Waldo’s Secret Gardens. The old home was the most unique area for getting ready, and for taking a few quiet moments before the ceremony. Emotional vows were said outside in the garden under a gorgeous canopy of matured towering trees, followed by an equally unforgettable reception complete with heartfelt toasts, dancing, and all of the well wishes from every person who is important to Peyton and Nik. Everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by the amazing Two Chicks and a Pot followed by more dancing and a sweet sparkler exit.
Mr. and Mrs. Carey we wish you all of the happiness in the world out in Colorado Springs! We are so happy you chose us to document your most important day.
